From a Small-Town Student to Pakistan’s First CHINT C&I

I began my journey in the underdeveloped district of Lodhran, where limited exposure and resources shaped my early belief that education and persistence were the only paths forward. After completing my BS in Electrical Engineering at Khawaja Fareed University of Engineering & IT, I strengthened my technical foundation through hands‑on internships at MEPCO and TBEA Xinjiang SunOasis. My final‑year project—an IoT‑based multi‑parameter system for solar‑powered tunnel farming—became a national highlight, ranking in the top five at the JAZZ Hackathon and earning NGIRI funding. Building on this momentum, I advanced quickly in the renewable energy sector, becoming the first engineer in Pakistan to install and commission CHINT C&I Battery Energy Storage System cabinets and successfully delivering multiple 522 kWh BESS projects. Today, as a Project Engineer at Powerzone Engineering & Services, I lead the installation and commissioning of advanced BESS and solar PV systems across diverse sectors, ensuring reliable and sustainable power solutions. My journey from a small‑town student to an engineer driving Pakistan’s clean‑energy transition reflects resilience, continuous learning, and a commitment to technical excellence.

KFUEIT Proudly Congratulates Alumni Hamza Akram on Sele

It gives us immense pleasure while disclosing that Mr. Hamza Akram - Alumni KFUEIT from the Department of Computer Science (2018 - 2022), has been lucky enough to get selected and participate in the Study of United States Institute (SUSI) for Student Leaders program at the University of Massachusetts, USA. This program is an intensive short-term academic program whose purpose is to provide student leaders with a deeper understanding of the United States while enhancing their leadership skills. Hamza is the first-ever student from KFUEIT to get selected for this prestigious program. He has already represented Pakistan and KFUEIT in several national and international platforms. This time it was in the States. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours.
